Where is your budget at?
February 3, 2012
Having the opportunity to meet with clients before they actually commit to any detail on their wedding day is really interesting. I love to ask prospective clients “where the focus of their wedding budget is at ?” The response is always different but there are definitely some leading vendors that collectively lead a wedding budget. The venue is always first or at least at the top- the creation of a wedding stems from where it will be hosted. The Caterer is always in the top 3, everyone wants great food and booze. Photography, everyone wants those momentous memories captured forever- at the end of the day that is all you have right? From the prospective of a planner I agree those three things are very important – that’s why they are always on the top of the list. A wedding is one day , the event will move so quickly, memories are key. I spoke with a former bride who mentioned to me she could not remember what she ate and what her cake tasted like ( how it looked though she remembers). What she was able to reflect on though was fantastic photography and a film from an incredible film maker of her event in motion- revisiting the photos and especially the video allows her to relive her wedding. Coordination , great music, and a way to watch it all over again and again is what really made her day. In planning a wedding there are so many details and so many decisions.. my advice think about your personality and how you can incorporate that as a couple into your wedding day, in addition how can you optimize your memories of that very important and special day?
